Disabled American Veterans will host the annual Purple Hearts Sundown Ceremony on Saturday, August 7th starting at 6:30 p.m. at the Pahrump Veterans Memorial at Chief Tecopa Cemetery, 751 East Street.

County Commission Vice-Chair Frank Carbone will MC the event, and County Manager Tim Sutton will present proclamations on behalf of the County and Town of Pahrump.

The Nye County Board of Commissioners approved proclamations during their August 3rd meeting recognizing August 7th as Purple Heart Day in both the County and the Town.

Assemblyman Gregory Hafen II will also be on hand to present a proclamation on behalf of the State.

Purple Heart Day is annually on August 7th to commemorate men and women who were wounded or killed by opposing armed forces during military service.

NOTE: This is not a town-sponsored event but is posted as a community service.
